Sadly, sweet Skye was found abandoned. She came to RSPCA Millbrook in Surrey underweight and with sore skin, but is now healthy and happy – ready to find her forever home. Skye has not had a great start to life so she really is looking for a loving family who will give her the happy life she deserves.

Skye is an approximately 8 year old, brindle Staffie Cross. She recently spent the day at a staff member’s home and was really well-behaved. She travelled well in the car, was house trained and settled in her bed and went to sleep. This was all in a few hours and in a house she had never been in.

Skye loves her tennis ball/football and will play with them for ages; she likes most toys really. She loves a cuddle and will happily snuggle up on the sofa with you as she has so much love to give. Skye loves training and is really smart, so she needs a family that will teach her lots of new commands. Skye may be 8 years old but she is still very active and lots of fun.

Skye can be worried by bouncy dogs who rush up to her. She can walk around other dogs on the lead and is easily distracted by treats. As Skye does not like dogs coming straight up to her, it’s best that she is not walked in parks or areas where dogs are off the lead. Skye would be happy with pavement walking and then have garden to play ball in. Adopters could also look at any secure fields to give Skye a nice big off-lead once/twice a week. Skye wears a muzzle when out in public and stays on lead at all times. Skye is happy in her muzzle and more importantly can still have treats given through her muzzle, can drink and pant.

As Skye needs to stay on lead in public (she walks very nicely), she will need access to her own private, secure garden with 6ft fencing for off-lead play and toileting. Skye will need someone based at home to begin with and then will need a gradual build-up to being left. Skye is clean in her kennel but may need a refresher in housetraining in her new home.

Skye will need to be an only dog and could live with children of secondary school age.
