Life’s a cheesy beach for crazy Maisie!

Gorgeous Maisie is a 9-year-old Border Collie x Australian Kelpie who came into rescue when her owner could no longer keep her due to severe allergies in the household. Maisie moved to an Oldies Club foster home in West Dorset.

Maisie gradually settled into life at her foster home, and quickly established herself as boss of the resident dog Prince, a handsome 10-year-old Collie x GSD. In the early days, she liked to look down on him from a footstool.

Once her foster carers were sure that Maisie and Prince were going to be good friends, they decided to adopt Maisie. Yay! Here she is celebrating her adoption by trying on a hat, and sitting with Dad in the (stationary!) tractor.

She looks very much at home, surveying her surroundings.

Although she is living on a farm, Maisie finds walks in her own fields quite tedious and she much prefers a regular trip to the beach.

Or woods.

Maisie does have a sensitive side, and she is frightened of thunder, wind, rain, planes, helicopters and loud traffic, to name but a few.

She is also cheese obsessed. Here is she harrassing Dad for a piece of his cheese straw.

It worked!

And despite his sad face, Prince did get some too.

Perhaps due to her love of a piece of cheese, Maisie was quite tubby when she first arrived at her foster home, but with plenty of long walks, and games of fetch alongside Prince, she has regained a lovely shape, and her beautiful black coat is gleaming.

Maisie’s adopters are so pleased to have been able to offer this intelligent, loving and slightly crazy older girl a happy life. They hope to share many more years with her.

Welcome home, Maisie!
