Lily (Private rehoming, Nottingham)

Lily is a lovely 11-year-old Chihuahua who is being rehomed privately by her owner. Lily is currently in Nottingham.

Her owner is moving to a smaller home with no garden. Lily is very unhappy about having no garden as she is used to going in and out as she pleases. Her owner is very sad to have to rehome Lily, but wants to find a her a home where she will be happy for her autumn years.

Lily has always lived as an only dog, howvever she has stayed at a relative’s with their dog with no problem. On walks she mainly ignores other dogs. She gets on well with small dogs but can be intimidated by some big dogs and will bark at them.

She chases cats in the garden, though never actually catches up with them – she just likes to see them off the premises – but she gets on well with a relative’s cat, so does have potential to live with a cat that is used to dogs. She gets on very well with children of all ages and is gentle with them. She has been around her owner’s grandchildren from ages 4 onwards.

Lily can be left alone for hours happily; her owner leaves the radio on for her. She only needs a fairly short walk, once a day, but she absolutely loves running around the garden. She could be walked twice per day but is reluctant, particularly when the weather is cold. Lily is very good in the car.

She enjoys playing chase with a small ball. She also likes to grab her soft toys and lick them for ages and then shake them like mad. Every time the back garden is mowed, and the garden dug/weeded, Lily has to inspect every inch, which is amusing to watch! The only thing Lily doesn’t like is the hoover and she will try to bite it.

Lily is spayed. She has a heart murmur that does not require medication at the moment, and she has plenty of energy when chasing squirrels and cats that stray into the garden. The next door neighbour has 5 cats and they keep Lily active all day long!

Lily is being rehomed privately by her owner, who has confirmed she will take her back if her new home doesn’t work out for any reason. Prospective adopters will be carefully homechecked.
