So cute Deva is a 14-year-old Pomeranian who came into rescue due to her owner sadly passing away and no-one could have her. She is now enjoying the comforts of an Oldies Club foster home in Coventry, West Midlands, waiting for someone to offer her a lovely permanent home.

Summary: Deva is such a cute and perfectly well-behaved lady who loves lots of fuss and attention.

Quickly settled: Deva settled very quickly into her new foster home and made herself comfortable within 24 hours.

Can be left for a few hours: Deva can be left for a while but does cry initially. She does love to have her people around her and would not be happy to be rehomed with people who work full-time with only a lunch break.

Very good with dogs: Deva is good with dogs out and about and could live with another compatible dog.

Needs a home without cats: It’s not known how Deva behaves around cats so she is seeking a home where there are no resident cats.

Good with children: Deva is good with children of any age though probably older children who are dog-savvy and know when to give her space would be better.

Very good on walks: Deva enjoys her walks and is taken out once or twice a day for around 30 minutes. She is well-behaved and does not pull on the lead.

Good in the car: Deva travels well in the car and settles in the boot.

Deva’s favourite pastimes: She enjoys having a fuss, playing with her toys, going for a walk and snoozing in her bed.

Deva’s dislikes: Her foster carers have not found anything that Deva dislikes or is frightened of.

Deva’s ideal home: She just loves lots of attention and a peaceful, loving home would be perfect. She is such a happy, sweet and loving lady and has been no trouble at all in her foster home.

Health notes: Deva weighs 6.4kg and is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. She has a luxating patella to the rear and a soft heart murmur. Her eyes and ears are good and she has had a recent dental. Her blood test results were good, but her urine had a high level of protein so the vet recommended scanning for bladder stones. Crystals were seen in the bladder scan but no obvious stones, so she was prescribed Loxicom and increasing her water intake either with a wet food or a special urinary diet to dissolve the crystals.

Deva has Mitral Valve Disease but does not require medication currently. A further echocardiogram in 6 to 12 months was recommended. During the scan, the vet noticed a large amount of sediment in her gall bladder which would increase a gall bladder growth and obstruct the gall bladder. She has been prescribed Destolit (ongoing) which should help reduce the amount of sediment present and any risk.

More from Deva’s foster carers: “They describe her as simply happy, fun-loving and a perfect little lady.”

Deva can be rehomed anywhere on the UK mainland – the closer to her foster home the better – subject to a satisfactory home visit. Note that you will be required to travel to the foster home to collect her.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
