Gorgeous Phoebe is a Gordon Setter Cross and she is a sweet and affectionate senior with a heart full of love. She’s currently in the care of Dogs Trust Shoreham in Sussex and looking for her forever home.
Phoebe is a beautiful, senior lady going on for 12 years old. She has had a tough start but, despite this, she’s a loving, affectionate dog who thrives on attention. She can be wary of new people and needs time and gentle reassurance to warm up.
Phoebe is best suited to a calm home with secondary school aged children and no other pets, as she prefers to have all the attention to herself. She is a sociable lady with some dogs and could have walking buddies with well-matched canines but isn’t a fan of boisterous types.
Phoebe is fully housetrained and requires a garden of her own at home. She enjoys quiet, rural walks, preferring soft ground to avoid discomfort from stiffness in her joints. She finds busy residential, street walking near traffic or town-like areas overwhelming.
Leaving Phoebe alone is something that will need to be built up very gradually and only once she is settled into her new routine. She also benefits from rest days with enrichment activities; food-motivated, she loves activities like kongs, snuffle mats and lick mats. She also enjoys playing with toys, especially balls and ropes.
Phoebe is slightly overweight, so a gradual weight loss plan will help support her joints. Phoebe is also quite vocal, making sure you know when she wants attention or dinner, and although she may be hard of hearing, she loves engagement.
