Adorable Zeus is a 12-year-old, neutered Staffy/Boxer Cross who has come into the care of The Mutts Nutts Rescue in Lincolnshire following the sad passing of his owner. He has settled remarkably well in his foster home and is fully house-trained and looking forward to going to his forever home soon.
Zeus is a friendly and affectionate boy who thrives on being around people and loves attention. He will follow you around like a shadow and is happiest when curled up on the sofa with you. He enjoys his walks, whether it’s a leisurely sniff around the neighbourhood or a run in the field and behaves well on the lead. Zeus loves his toys and playing ball. He’s not a fan of cold or rainy weather and may need some encouragement to venture out, but he’s happy to go out wearing his dog coat.
Zeus has adapted very well and is very laid-back. While he may whine a little when left alone, he quickly settles and is content in his own company. At night, he sleeps soundly after enjoying his bedtime biscuit. Zeus has a healthy appetite and loves his food. However, he does have a sensitive stomach, so any changes to his diet should be introduced gradually.
Zeus currently lives with another dog in his foster home and they get along well. He would require a slow introduction to any potential canine companions but could live with a calm, older dog. He has not been tested with cats and a home is recommended without them. Zeus can mouth hands when he gets excited so he would suit a home without young children or one with older, dog-savvy children.
Zeus is currently on a weight-loss journey and has been making excellent progress in his foster home, but this will need to continue in his new home. He has mild arthritis in his elbows, along with a few fatty lumps and patches of hard skin. These are age-related issues that do not cause him discomfort. Zeus will need some confidence building re vet visits and advice will be given when registering interest.
