27/06/18 – Ursula has found a home!

Ursula is an 8 year old Bichon Frise girl who is in a Friends of Animals Wales foster home in RCT, South Wales, waiting for someone to offer her a forever home.

Ursula is a very quiet girl who is an ex breeding bitch. She is a sweet little dog who will make a great addition to a family that will allow her time to realise that all humans are not scary. Ursula is getting used to life as a pet. She loves sitting on a lap for a cuddle or simply lounging on the sofa. She also loves her food.

Little Ursula could live with older gentle children. She doesn’t really like play but is happy to sit by you for fuss. Visiting toddlers would be fine. She is used to living with dogs of varying sizes and having another dog in her new home would help her learn how to be a pet. Bouncy puppies are too much for her but older, calm dogs are fine. She will grumble at dogs if they come too close when she is on your lap but she stops if you tell her No. Ursula is calm and might be OK to live with a cat.

Ursula can be left for short periods and doesn’t do any damage. She loves human company though so would love a home with retired people who are home most of the day. She has been crate tested but doesn’t need to be in a crate as she’s not destructive. Ursula has never played with toys and she is not quite sure what to do with them. This is typical of ex-breeding dogs and should change as she becomes more confident, but at the moment she prefers a cuddle on the sofa.

Ursula is a fine-weather walker. She has a short walk each day but is equally happy to stay indoors and just potter in and out of the garden as she pleases.

Ursula has had an operation to remove cataracts from both eyes. She is having eye drops several times a day which will need to continue in her new home. Ursula is still under a vets in Bristol where she is currently attending every month.

Ursula is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and up to date with flea and worming treatment. Potential adopters will be expected to travel to meet her in her foster home in Rhondda, South Wales.
