12/1/19 – Gorgeous Cyra has found her new home!

Cyra is a 9 year old female German Shepherd Dog who has been transferred to RSPCA West Hatch, near Taunton, Somerset, having spent quite a long time in kennels at another centre.
When Cyra was originally taken into care she was quite worried when meeting new people, particularly men. She was also not keen on other dogs. The previous kennels worked hard to bring Cyra out of her shell, and with the use of treats and gentle introductions gave Cyra the confidence and trust to meet new people without becoming too worried.
Cyra has settled into West Hatch remarkably well, quickly showing her passion for ball play and searching for treats. She has a mischievous side too and enjoys playing games of chase and teasing staff with her toys. She loves to show you her toys, bless her.
Cyra walks nicely on the lead although she is very strong. She is looking for a home with experienced German Shepherd owners who will be sensitive to her nervous side. She needs to be the only pet in her new home and would prefer a quiet home environment without children. Cyra will need to gradually learn that it is OK to be alone. She forms strong bonds with those she trusts and will make a wonderful, loyal companion.
