4/9/19 – Vince has found a new home where he is very happy!
——————–
Vince is a 13-year-old Pug X Terrier who is in Chudleigh, Devon. His owner sadly had a stroke and is unable to care for Vince anymore. Vince is now with a ‘home boarding’ business where he has spent his holidays over the last 10 years. They are looking after Vince until they can find a permanent home for him. This needs to be within a reasonable driving distance of his current location so that a home check can be done.
Vince is a lovely boy who is very friendly with dogs. He seems fine with cats too but he has never lived in the same home as one. He is fine with children, but he can’t live with young ones as he has a health condition that requires that he only eats a certain food and absolutely nothing else, so children would need to be old enough to understand and abide by this.
Vince is fine to be left alone for a few hours when you need to go out. If you like to take your dog out and about with you, Vince would enjoy this as he loves a trip out in the car and can’t wait to get in. He loves walks too and is always keen to go. He enjoys half to one hour walks, but you need to be careful not to overdo it because of his health condition.
Vince is quite independent but will come for a cuddle when he is ready. He loves tennis balls but his carers limit these so that he does not overdo it. He likes chewing antlers and snuggling on or under a blanket.
He is happy to be on a dog bed, bean bag or sofa. He quite often snuggles up next to one of the other dogs.
Vince is neutered. He has a cataract in one eye but this does not seem to bother him. He has Inflammatory Bowel Disease and Protein Losing Enteropathy for which he takes a steroid (prednisolone) every day and vitamin b12 (cobalaplex) every other day, which help control the condition and maintain his weight. He is fed Beco cod and haddock complete meal which really works for him and gives him normal poos most of the time, but he must not be given any other food.
Vince is being rehomed privately by his carer, Tania, who has confirmed that she will take Vince back if his new home doesn’t work out for any reason. Prospective adopters will be homechecked.
Could you offer Vince a loving and caring new home?
