27/12/21 – Lukas has found a home

Sadly, poor Lukas spent around six years of his life in a Romanian shelter but, happily, he’s now being cared for in a foster home in Rutland, East Midlands, provided by Safe Rescue.

Lukas is an 8 – 9 year old, medium-sized Crossbreed who has been settling in for the past few months as he was initially reluctant to interact with humans. He has done very well in his rehabilitation (with the aid of an awful lot of ham!) and is now ready for his new, forever home.

Lukas walks well on a lead now but doesn’t really enjoy walks yet. It is hard to say if this is due to lack of confidence or laziness but probably the latter! Lukas gets on well with other dogs but is not too keen on large dominant males. He cannot be rehomed as an only dog and has to be homed with another resident dog.

Lukas enjoys a fuss from all members of his foster family but may take a little while to warm up to someone new touching him.

Lukas is vaccinated, microchipped and neutered.

Note: Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from Safe Rescue must wear a slip lead on walks for the duration of their lives. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
