30/8/2010 Molly sadly had to be put to sleep recently after she started having fits. She had seven months with her wonderful foster family and enjoyed life to the full having lots of walks and love and cuddles from her family.

Molly is a very sweet and friendly 11 year old Springer Spaniel who arrived in Oldies Club care a few weeks ago. She has two very large cysts on her neck and front leg, but these don’t seem to bother her. Unfortunately though, she also has tumours in her tummy and the vet believes these are malignant.
Because Molly has various other ailments; a heart condition, water infection, weak hips and left back leg, the vet has advised against doing any invasive treatment for the tumours. Instead, she will be closely monitored and continue to be treated for her heart condition and water infection. Molly will stay in Oldies Club care for the rest of her days and we will fund all her veterinary treatment. If you’d like to help us care for Molly, please consider taking part in our sponsor scheme.
Molly is being fostered in Nottingham and she’s made a big impression on her foster family. They already love her dearly and this is what they have to say about her;
Molly’s first week in our care was touch and go, because the Vet and all at Oldies Club were unsure whether she would get through all her ailments. However, after lots of quiet time, TLC and kindness from us she began to respond and is showing an interest in her surroundings.
Molly’s appetite is good and she loves going for small walks. She was quite reserved to begin with, but is now starting to build up a close relationship with us. Every day we see an improvement in her health and confidence and she is becoming more playful and certainly enjoying life for now
Molly unfortunately cannot be rehomed due to her medical condition, but she is settling in quite nicely here. We already love her to bits and just want to make her remaining days comfortable, safe and happy.
