12/8/23 – Chase has gone off to his new home!
—————————–

Chase is a gorgeous little Shih Tzu who came into Oldies Club care via a Council. We were told he was an oldie, but his microchip information states that he’s only five and a half. So he’s an imposter oldie! Chase is in a foster home in Sydenham, London, waiting for someone to offer him a permanent home.

Settled well in foster care: It took ‘young’ Chase about a day to settle into his foster home and he is doing well there. He was terrified of the stairs when he first arrived, and his foster carer had to carry him up and down. Within a short space of time though, and with a little training, he was flying up and down them.

Likes to have company: Chase hasn’t been left alone in foster care and it’s thought that he’d find it stressful if left alone initially. He is therefore looking for a home where it won’t be a problem for him to have company most of the time.

Good with dogs: Chase is friendly towards dogs he meets on walks. He just gets a little scared when larger dogs run at him. Apparently he came from a home with two other dogs.

Unknown with cats: We don’t know if Chase has experience of cats, so will be looking for a cat-free home for him.

Seems good with children: Chase is always friendly towards children on walks. His foster carer imagines that he could live quite happily with them and so we can consider applications from homes with kind, respectful children.

Well-behaved on walks: Chase is great on walks. He is easily controlled on the lead and has excellent recall once he knows and trusts you. His foster carer walks him a number of times per day, but he has one main walk to the park, where he likes to run around a little and then relax on a bench or under a tree. The walk to and from the park generally takes 20 – 30 minutes.

Seems to travel well: Chase travelled by car from Wolverhampton to London, and he was fine.

Chase’s favourite pastimes: He loves his walks, his snuffle mat, being brushed every day, and snoozing. He’s not interested in a ball.

Chase’s ideal home: He’d enjoy living with a family where children can play with him, or in a home with someone looking for a companion.

Health notes: Chase is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. He is in very good health.

More from Chase’s foster carer: He is cute, friendly and loyal. Chase isn’t a barker or a licker. And he doesn’t shed hair. he is simply a sweetheart.

If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
