3/11/2023 – Simon has been reserved!
Sadly, Simon spent many years of his life in a Romanian shelter and this prolonged incarceration has sadly left its mark on him. He is now safely in the U.K. and being cared for in a foster home in Norwich, Norfolk, provided by Safe Rescue. It’s time he found a loving, forever home.
Simon is a medium-sized Crossbreed aged around 9 years old. He is an acquired taste and is not your average, waggy-tailed dog who shows gratitude for being rescued. Instead, he is a rather “Victor Meldrew” character and likes to grumble his way through life. Everybody around him just gets used to it and nobody takes any offence or notice.
Despite have a serious case of grumpy old man syndrome, Simon is contented with the simple things in life. He will go on walks grudgingly but would much rather be in bed. He loves his food. He will never admit he likes fuss, but he secretly does. He just likes being grumpy more!
If the other dogs in the home play too boisterously, Simon will tell them off, but his tail will be wagging furiously because he enjoys the role of fun police. His foster carer is amused with Simon when he sits in his pink Wendy house trying to look fierce through the pink shuttered windows at any dog that walks past, but nobody takes him seriously.
Simon can live with other dogs and will need at least one other dog in the home to sneer at. He keeps himself to himself most of the time and sleeps a lot. He has not been tested with cats but can be if needed. He will need an adult family though visiting children aren’t a problem as long as he is allowed to keep out of their way.
Safe Rescue have a policy that all dogs adopted from them must wear a slip lead on walks. Please only enquire about Safe Rescue dogs if you are happy to always use a slip lead – extendable leads are not acceptable to Safe Rescue. All dogs have to be collected and a crate must be used.
