On the 12th March 2010 (Hound & Terriers day) Oldies Club were invited to Crufts to share the Pet.net stand, by Marc Abraham who is the Oldies Club patron.

Oldies Club is a small charity without much public profile so it was decided that Crufts would be a valuable opportunity for fundraising and awareness raising. As a rescue that only deals with old dogs, by attending we could help to raise the profile of old dogs in rescues, and talk to the dog owning public about the issues specific to older dog ownership.

Six volunteers (Amy, Andy, Brian, Marion, Mel and San) and three dogs (9 year old Graf, 11 year old Ruby and 14.5 year old Sham) travelled to the NEC in Birmingham to help promote Oldies Club and rehoming of older dogs in general.

The stand was decorated with our banner and posters showing all of the dogs in our care who are either looking for their forever home or who are in long term foster looking for sponsorship.

Our supporters handed out leaflets, collected donations and chatted to the general public whilst the dogs happy offered themselves to be fussed over.

Amy was interview by Marc and Andy featured on Crufts FM on the subject of Oldies Club .

Although it was a long day we felt it was definately a brilliant opportunity to help promote Oldies Club. We raised a brilliant £175.03 in donations and are hopeful that the leaflets handed out will bring us more support through volunteers and adopters for our Oldies.
