Delightful Lexi and Frankie came into the care of Harleys Hounds when their mum sadly passed away. They’ve been beyond cherished and are such sweet dogs. They are now ready for their forever homes together and someone out there has to have a little space on their sofa for 2 gorgeous little ones.
Frankie, the mini Dachshund, is 16 years old and is on a low dose of steroids daily. The Rescue will continue to pay for this for as many months/years he has left, but he will need to stay local to their branch in Swadlincote or Tamworth vets. Lexi is nearly 12 years old and was a rescue from elsewhere so her past is unknown.

This is what their foster carer says:
“Frankie is a lovely old chap who loves his food (and treats) and spends most of his time napping. He will bark to be lifted on and off the sofa, and will come for a head and ear scratch then go to his spot on the sofa! Frankie doesn’t mind being brushed and the groomer said he was great for her. Frankie can’t see very well so he doesn’t like to go on walks; he will take a little wander around the garden but then barks to be picked up as he can’t navigate any steps. Frankie has daily medication for his respiratory issues, and he eats softened food and small treats due to having few teeth. Frankie is a beautiful old soul who just wants a sofa and lots of love.

Lexi is quite a character, she is so funny! You wouldn’t believe she is 12 as she has puppyish traits. She will give out a little howl when she needs to go out or wants to go for a walk. She walks well on a lead, shows a little interest in other dogs, but doesn’t bother them. She’s eats well and loves treats when she’s been for a wee. She comes for nightly cuddles and belly scratches on the sofa and will often lay on me like a baby. She has the most hilarious side eye, she does a little dance when she’s excited, and she smiles all the time. She’s not too keen on being groomed but will allow it in short bursts. She’s just an absolute delight.
Neither of them is at all interested in my cat, had a quick sniff, then walked away. They’re fine being left for about 4 hours and will come and greet you at the front door. They do bark if anyone comes to the door but stop when told. Honestly, this pair have been an absolute pleasure to foster. Whoever adopts them will be very lucky.”
Frankie and Lexi are neutered, vaccinated and chipped.
