8/5/08 Thomas has found a new home!

Thomas is a very youthful and lively 13 year old cat and is currently being fostered through AARU.

Thomas has maintained his gentlemanly-catitude since arriving at his fosterer’s house. So what’s so special about him you may ask? Thomas has had a very tough life as a long-term stray, finding food where he could, trying to keep warm on those really freezing nights, when even we all turned the heating-up a few degrees, we really don’t know how he managed and despite all that he has the most dignified, proud and gentle nature!

Thomas really, really does appreciate the care and warmth of his temporary home, apparently he looked around when he first got there, like he just could not believe his luck; heating, food, a bed and best of all someone to stroke him!! Wow, he thought all his birthdays had arrived at once! Be assured he doesn’t take anything for granted and loves just being able to watch the wildlife through the windows and not feel the cold anymore! His fosterer has spent alot of time combing his lovely long coat and getting rid of all the knots in it. Thomas is very tolerant of this and is so thankful he doesn’t have to tug them anymore to try and do it himself!

His needs are simple, he likes nothing better than a quiet night on the sofa with the television on, sitting on a lap. He is learning how to play and is partial to a nice bit of string, he doesn’t expect fancy expensive toys, he’s never had them, no-one ever cared before. He is a dreamboat of a cat, in his early teens.

The only minor issue a new owner needs to be aware of is that Thomas now needs to take heart tablets for the rest of his life but please don’t let this put you off. The treatment isn’t expensive and the condition is under control. Thomas is healthy and gains in strength as each day goes by. With loving and considerate care, he should have a happy and satisfactory life. After all, we all know friends and relatives that take tablets and they aren’t past it, are they?’

A bonus is that this sweet cat already uses a scratching post and is litter-trained. Thomas has been neutered.
