Mouse was a gorgeous 10 year old large Crossbreed boy who came into Oldies Club care at the end of December and went to a foster home in Suffolk. His owner told us that he needed to be rehomed because he was being left for long hours and was barking and the neighbours complaining.
It was immediately obvious that there was something seriously wrong with Mouse’s back legs and he was falling over a lot. Mouse was taken to the vet to be checked over and, sadly, the vet diagnosed advanced neurolgical problems, with a very poor prognosis. This condition would have been developing gradually for a couple of years. Mouse also had severe dental problems.
Mouse’s foster carers gave him the very best of care for the short time he was with them, and tried so hard to help him, but Mouse was not eating and reached the point where he had no control over his back legs. The vet said that the only option was to put poor Mouse to sleep.
Mouse’s tragic story has upset us all and we feel so very sad that his lovely foster carers have experienced this with their first Oldies Club foster dog.
Run free now Mouse. :(
