9.6.13 Sadly, little Gracie became very ill and had to be put to sleep. Our thoughts are with her fosterers.
This lovely little girl is Gracie. She’s a Yorkshire terrier as you can see and she’s around 10 years old. Sadly, poor Gracie found herself in the dog pound during the freezing cold weather. No one came to claim her but fortunately, Dunroamin K9 Rescue stepped in and she’s now safe in a foster home while the rescue try to find her a forever place.
When she arrived in rescue, poor Gracie was in a bad state. Her coat was a mattered mess and she has very limited vision. However, once settled in her foster home, Gracie began to come out of her shell as her life to a turn for the better. Her foster carer describes her as “one of the most joyful, trusting, loving and happy little dogs I’ve ever met”. Gracie is dog and cat friendly and is currently happily sharing her foster home with a Labrador. Although her sight is limited she still enjoys her walks and even manages to go up and down the stairs.
Since Gracie came into care, she has been diagnosed with Cushings Disease. However this is well managed with daily medication. Her sight is very poor but she managed amazingly well.
Gracie is an affectionate girl and she loves her cuddles. She still enjoys her walks but would also be quite happy just to potter around. She will make a fantastic companion for somebody, she certainly deserves that second chance of a loving home after being abandoned so heartlessly. If you think that you may be able to offer her a forever sofa, please contact Dunroamin K9 Rescue as follows:
