18 May 2016 ~ We’re very sorry to have to update Holly’s page with the news that our lovely girl has sadly passed away :-(. Our thoughts are with her fosterer, who took care of Holly so wonderfully for us while she was with Oldies Club. Run free, beautiful Holly.
Adorable Holly is an 11 year old Collie Cross, with long legs, who came into Oldies Club care after the arrival of a baby in her previous family. She is in an Oldies Club foster home in Faversham, Kent, and due to her ongoing health problems it has been decided that Holly will stay in Oldies Club care as a sponsor dog.
Holly has Addison’s disease which is successfully controlled with medication, as well as arthritis and some bladder problems, also controlled with medication. She enjoys life and doesn’t let her health problems affect her; she is always up for a walk or game and is a happy, affectionate girl. Not only does she have long, long legs but ears to match! They seem permanently pricked and standing to attention!
This is a recent update from Holly’s foster Mum
‘Holly’s latest blood tests showed a slight improvement in kidney function. She’s also been moved onto a different painkiller for her arthritis and seems to be tolerating it well, with no drowsiness so far’.
These new photos were taken just after she’d had a bath. She’s showing off her lovely shiny coat :-)’
As you can see from the lovely photos, Holly is being loved and cared for and is enjoying life. She will remain in Oldies Club care for the rest of her days and it would be lovely if after seeing her beautiful photos, people would come forward and sponsor her. She really would appreciate it and if she could would give you lots of licks and hugs to say thanks!
If you would love to offer a home to an oldie but your circumstances aren’t suitable, perhaps you would be kind enough to sponsor one of the special oldies we are caring for that, due to health problems, are unlikely to be offered a permanent home.
